WHO WE ARE

We are an association of the descendants of the Shaw and Romaine family of West Africa, included in our membership are our spouses and adopted children. Our association was formed as a means of bringing our family together, fostering unity among members and bringing the next generation on board, ensuring a family bond for generations to come.

Family History

Our family history begins with 5 siblings in Nova Scotia Canada, 4 of the siblings left Canada to come to The Gambia, the fifth sibling, however, who was already married with children decided to stay behind. The 4 who journeyed to The Gambia, Thomas Beresford Shaw, Mary Shaw,Eliza Shaw and Sally Romaine and we are all their descendants.
